Lancette Burton- Artist
Thank you for stopping by!
I am a born and raised Calgarian who found a passion for art and photography in high school. That enthusiasm began in Grade 10 art class, while experimenting with pencil crayons and pastels. I competed my first acrylic painting, two years later in grade 12.
Years later after graduating from University, I rediscovered my passion for art and have committed to learning and growing as a professional artist. I have participated in many oil and acrylic landscape and portrait painting workshops. I have worked under the mentor-ship of a few professional oil artists such as Rick Berg, Doug Levitt and Michael Downs from 2014 to the present. I participated in my first solo art show in June 2016, have had a several art showings, and I am currently part of a online art gallery called Fostermak. I enjoy painting all genres, but my passion is painting landscapes, sunsets, pet portraits and abstracts, using nature as my inspiration.
My photography journey began after the birth of my son, in 2013. I was motivated to learn how to capture as many special moments, from his childhood, as possible. I enrolled in courses and photography workshops and began experimenting with those special moments, not only with my own family, but for many others as well. I soon discovered that I truly enjoyed working with families; capturing authentic moments and the details that make those families unique. There is something very special about documenting your family, and your growth, through photographs. I enjoy creating memories though creative portraits which you will treasure for years to come.
